The cornerback position is one of the most coveted in the NFL. Hall of Famers such as Deion Sanders and Rod Woodson have set the standard for the position. Every year, teams hope to land Patrick Peterson in the first round or find a Richard Sherman in the later rounds. The other day, I got the chance to have a Q&A UTSA CB Devron Davis, a teammate of potential first rounder Marcus Davenport. Check it out!

Q: Who was your favorite NFL Player growing up and why?
Davis: Champ Bailey because I loved his style of play hard nose strong-willed and determined to win every rep.

Q: Is that who would compare your play style to or is there someone else?
Davis: I definitely think we are very similar.

Q: How have you prepared for the draft and how would you describe the process?
Davis: I definitely feel like I’m the most pro-ready defensive back in the class. I workout twice a day, stay hydrated and watch film for about 3-4 hours.

Q: What are some noticeable flaws you have been working to improve your game?
Davis: Just my flexibility.

Q: What made you chose UTSA and what was the experience like at that university?
Davis: Coach Wilson is one of the best recruiters and recruited a lot of top talent (Marcus Davenport is one of them) and I loved the city. Love the coaches and players. It was a great experience.

Q: What do you think about your current draft projection? Does it motivate you to prove them wrong?
Davis: It motivates me a lot. I want to be the best.

Q: You recently had a workout with the Broncos. Describe what that was like getting feedback from coaches at the next level.
Davis: I think it would be a great fit overall. I also believe they think so as well. It’s always good to get good feedback from great coaches.

Q: So tell me, before a big game, what’s your go-to snack or meal to fuel your play?
Davis: Peanut butter & jelly sandwich and oranges. I love it!

Q: If you could intercept a pass from one quarterback currently playing in the NFL, who would it be and why?
Davis: Tom Brady, the GOAT. I just gotta get one before he puts on the gold jacket.

Q: If you could play for one NFL Head Coach, who would it be and why?
Davis: Any head coach will be good. I just wanna make my presence felt in the NFL.

Q: You have family in the NFL (Vernon and Vontae Davis). What advice have they given you over these last couple months as you go through the draft process?
Davis: To just keep grinding, make plays, and be the ultimate professional at all times.

Q: Who, in your opinion, should the Browns draft with the 1st and 4th overall pick?
Davis: Saquon Barkley and Josh Allen
